For this book the author recieves the award «Nikolai Haytov» in 2004. For the first time in Bulgarian literature the bright and colorful life of a typical part of the Bulgarian population is described in stories. Dimiter Tomov demonstrates an unexpected talent in his latest book. He discloses the suspected, but in fact almost unknown human world, which our Bulgarian gypsies have carried and secreted in their katuns. Dimiter Tomov has set an eye on the gypsy soul, the gypsy passions, and the gypsy roads - be it to the Bosphorus, across the English Channel, or at the time of our welcome to Europe. His eye is now sad and ironical, now playfully giddy, now philosophically generalizing on the Roma and the Bulgarian destiny, viewed from the torn tilt of a gypsy cart or the ragged awning of a gypsy cabin. The stories are a blend of unmade and consciously deformed incidents. The author deftly hides among the things surrounding him. He deconstructs himself in order to give life to different people, who wander between the lines, and to transform them so as to be different from him. Thus Dimiter Tomov has made a step, which is traditional, and at the same time taking him to the high levels of prose writing. He has built the images of the little people, in contrast not only to the elevated literary heroes, but also in contrast to the appetites of the day, which is something that just a few masters of the pen are able to do.
